'I'm addicted to people pleasing'
“I've gotten to where I am by getting everything done for everyone. I excel in execution but now I'm in a new role and I can't help but being the "catch all" for everything that needs doing and it's just too much."
Brittany has joined as an Executive Vice President at a public tech company in a new and expanded role that she gets to define. The pressure to drive results combined with a feeling to "prove herself" means she's been overextended and falling out of balance, recognizing that she's on her way to burnout.
We explored the root of the people pleasing, which was tied to childhood trauma. We worked to cultivate compassion for the parts of her that did not have her needs met and gained clarity on setting and maintaining boundaries to support execution without exhaustion.

'What about me?'
“I’m supposed to be understanding and kind when my employee tells me they’re burned out and need to take time off. I’m supposed to say I understand and make it easy for them to take the time they need to rest and recover. But what about me?"
Tom is a managing partner at a big name firm and he's received upward feedback that he needs to be more empathetic to his employees. Yet, he's exhausted holding space for others and can't help but show his anger and resentment when the burden to get everything done falls on him.
We got to the root of the issue in the first session, i.e. being overly critical and hard on self. From here we worked to find validation from within.

Tools utilized:
- Subconscious re-patterning - mindset shift to "I am enough".
- Parts work - to identify the part that was behind the anger and criticism.
- Nervous system balancing - coherent breathing, prioritizing downtime, enhanced time management.
